Velvet Wasp is a electronic rock outfit that incorporates elements of industrial, metal, blues, jazz as well as bits and specks of other styles.  Spanning from smooth and sexy to fuming rage, Velvet Wasp changes their sound from one moment to the next. It is almost as if the music itself was a vagrant wondering the streets, arguing with belligerent fire hydrants and light poles.

Velvet Wasp just released their first offering, Explosive Decompression EP.  These five tracks were picked to introduce you to their sound and showcase the bands ability to morph styles.  Explosive Decompression is meant to be a taste of the full length album the band is currently finishing up and give potential fans something to chew on.

Velvet Wasp has two main members, Josh Butner and Chris Holland.  Chris (me) handles the writing, programing and playing while Josh handles guitars and web stuff.  All the music is written and recorded in my home studio.  No label, no producer…just Josh and myself holed up together.
